RADIESSE is an FDA-approved volumizing dermal filler whose formulation is based on synthetic calcium hydroxylapatite. It is designed for administration into the sub-dermis or deep dermis. Found naturally in the human body, calcium hydroxylapatite is similar to the calcium found in bones and teeth: RADIESSE’s gel contains microscopic particles of this mineral-like compound.
Dermal filler RADIESSE is approved by the FDA for facial augmentation and for corrections on the backs of the hands. It adds fullness and volume to administered areas: post -treatment, the calcium hydroxylapatite acts as a scaffold that supports the skin’s structure and promotes the growth of collagen. After the body metabolizes the calcium hydroxylapatite, only new collagen is left behind.
Dermal filler RADIESSE is indicated for treating moderate-to-severe Nasolabial Folds, Marionette Lines and for adding volume to compensate for localized loss of fat. It is also indicated for the rejuvenation of hands and for adding contours to the jaw line, to cheeks, and to any other areas of the face where re-definition will result in a more youthful look. However, treatment of crow’s feet or lips with dermal filler RADIESSE is not recommended.
Dermal filler RADIESSE provides immediate and long-lasting results: patients can expect the effects of their procedure to last approximately 12 months. Follow-up treatments every year to year-and-a-half should be sufficient to maintain the outcome.
Manufactured by Merz Aesthetics, dermal filler RADIESSE is made with synthetic calcium hydroxylapatite. Each package contains a syringe pre-filled with either 0.8 ml or 1.5 ml of gel accompanied by 2 x 28G T.W.3/4” needles. Calcium hydroxylapatite is biocompatible and has a long safety record as it has been used in cosmetic surgery, dentistry, and dermatology for over 20 years.
