Neither a skinbooster nor a dermal filler, PROFHILO is made of stabilized non-crosslinked hyaluronic acid and is free of crosslinking agents such as BDDE. Meant for administration into the deep dermis, PROFHILO is suitable for bio-remodeling the skin of the face to treat skin laxity.
Unlike bio-rejuvenation, the bio-remodeling that PROFHILO was designed for produces longer-lasting results and involves a smaller number of administration points and fewer sessions. The product is used for hydration of the skin as well as for creating a dermal scaffold; the purpose is to obtain definition with volume. The dual effects of hydrating the skin while stimulating the production of collagen and elastin are achievable because of PROFHILO’s patented technology: that technology allows hyaluronic acid with both high and low molecular weights to be combined without chemical crosslinking agents while still producing a gel of excellent cohesivity and manageability.
Indicated for use on the cheeks and jowls, PROFHILO can also treat skin laxity on the neck, forehead, and temples. The suggested technique for administering PROFHILO is the Bio Aesthetic Points technique. The first two treatments of PROFHILO should occur one month apart, with the third session taking place two months after that depending on individual response. The effects should last about six months, so repeating the treatment twice a year is recommended.
PROFHILO is manufactured in a U.S. FDA-approved site in Italy by IBSA Farmaceutici Italia and is made of hyaluronic acid sodium salt obtained through bio-fermentation. PROFHILO comes in a syringe pre-filled with 2 ml of hyaluronic acid, 32 mg of which is high molecular weight acid and 32 mg of which is low molecular weight acid, for a total of 64 mg/2 ml. There are 2 needles in a pack.
