Juvederm HYDRATE is a skin-boosting treatment designed for administration into the superficial dermis and into the junction of the dermis and epidermis. Juvederm HYDRATE is made from hyaluronic acid and mannitol. Hyaluronic acid attracts and retains moisture but degrades in the presence of free radicals. Mannitol slows this degradation, thus extending the duration of the product’s effects.
Juvederm HYDRATE is used as a hydrating treatment and mesotherapy product. As the time goes, the body’s naturally-occurring supply of hyaluronic acid decreases and isn’t as easily replenished. Replacing lost hyaluronic acid helps restore and maintain a more youthful appearance.
In addition to the face, other areas such as the back of the hands, the neck, and the decollete can be dry and dull, with wrinkles and reduced elasticity. Juvederm HYDRATE is also indicated for rehydration of areas of the body that are showing signs of aging or damage due to smoking or exposure to the sun. Juvederm HYDRATE can also be used to treat Tear Troughs, Barcode Lines also known as Smokers Lines, and Crow’s Feet. Other products in the JUVEDERM range contain Lidocaine. Juvederm HYDRATE does not, so it is appropriate for those patients who are allergic to Lidocaine.
Administration of Juvederm HYDRATE results in skin that is plumped up, with a smoother texture and a naturally healthy appearance. It should be administered three times, no more frequently than every 15 days. The effects last about four months, so the treatment can be repeated three times a year.
Juvederm HYDRATE is manufactured by Allergan in Europe and comes in a syringe pre-filled with 1 ml of gel accompanied by 2 x 30G1/6” needles. This skinbooster has a concentration of 13.5 mg/ml of sodium hyaluronate of non-animal origin as well as 9 mg/ml of Mannitol, intended as an antioxidant.
